ABCD - Any Body Can Dance, directed by Remo D'Souza is one of the
biggest surprises this weekend. While some of us expected Special
Chabbis to be a good film, not many have high expectation from this
Prabhu Deva, Kay Kay Menon, Ganesh Acharya and Lauren Gottlieb starrer
film. However, Remo D'Souza proved all of them wrong with his 'hatke'
plot and awesome dance movements in ABCD. The film also boasts to be the
first dance film of India in 3D.
Set against the backdrop of dance competition, ABCD - Any Body Can Dance
leaves you with a feeling of achievement and gives you a feel-good
factor. It's a film that every Indian (considering how passionate we are
for dance and music) can relate to and above all, Prabhu Deva and
Ganesh Acharya's dance is a treat to watch. The various dance style that
Remo uses leaves you spellbound.
The plot as such is weak and that is where ABCD falters. The narrative
by Tushar Hiranandani seems predictable. The second hour seems quite a
drag and a bit more firm editing would have done the film some good. The
3D effect is not so great either.
The last dance finale will make you sit on the edge of the seat (the
same feeling that you get while watching a one-day cricket match between
India and Pakistan!).
Story
Vishnu (Prabhu Deva) is extremely passionate about dance. He along with
his partner (Kay Kay Menon) set up a dance academy. However, Kay Kay
turns out to be quite a manipulator, and Vishnu is extremely dejected.
He decides to leave Mumbai, the city of dreams and go to his hometown.
That's when he spots a group of talented dancers who are preparing for a
dance competition. He decides to take them under his wing and train
them to be outstanding dancers.
Performances
Kay Kay Menon, as we all know, is a fabulous actor, and he does complete
justice to his 'villianous' role. Prabhu Deva is extremely good in
doing what he knows the best....and that is dancing! He is not too good
as an actor, and that he has proved once again (He previously starred in
Sapney with Kajol) with ABCD. Punit Pathak has got the spunk in him and
he has the ability to be one among the leading hunks in Bollywood.
Lauren Gottlieb is talented, good looking and an amazing dancer - a
firang with a desi touch! All other actors have given a decent
performance.
Verdict
Watch ABCD - Any Body Can Dance if you enjoy dance.
Cast: Prabhu Deva, Kay Kay Menon
Director: Remo D'Souza
Producer: Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ronnie Screwvala

I’m From Tamil Nadu, I like Malayalam Movies very much, in contrast I heard many Malayalam people like VIJAY, AJITH, SURYA, ALLU ARJUN. Tollywood is completely opposite to molly wood, whereas kolly wood is mixture of both the tolly wood and molly wood. Movies Made by Malayalam Industries are heart warming and life oriented, where you can at least learn something for your Life. I wish People from Malayalam film industry release their movies in Tamil with subtitles so that it will reach wider audience. Because artistic work should reach more people in the world. I used to read all the Malayalam Cinema News Mollywood News
